Your Home Has a Living Room. But Does It Have a Soul Room?
Your Home Has A Living Room. But Does It Have A Soul Room?
I have entered hundreds of beautiful homes, but I couldn’t find the most important room.
As a Meditation Counsellor and Sound Healer, I have been invited into countless homes — beautifully decorated, perfectly curated, full of warmth. Every home tells a story about its owners.
But one thing always surprises me.
We have a place to cook, a place to sleep, a place to work, a place to entertain guests… but where is the place for our self to rest?
We have given every part of our life a space, except the part that needs it the most.
And that is why even in the most beautiful homes, the mind still feels homeless.
Why You Need A Sacred Corner, Not Just A Pretty Corner
You don’t need an entire room. You need one honest corner.
A sacred space is not about aesthetics. It is about energy. When you sit in the same place every single day, even for 3 minutes, your mind, body, and breath start recognizing it. It becomes an anchor.
At Samarpan Healing Spa, I have one such room. The moment I sit there, my breath deepens on its own. My body-mind-spirit knows — now it’s time to return.
That’s what a sacred space does. It trains your nervous system to shift from chaos to calm.
How To Create Your Sacred Space At Home — The 5 Senses Method
Don’t decorate it. Energize it. Here’s how I guide my clients:
1. CHOOSE, DON’T FIND:
Stop waiting for the perfect spot. Choose one — a corner in your bedroom, a nook near a window, even a balcony. It must be away from your laptop, TV, and work files. This is your no-notification zone. Once you choose it, claim it. Clean it. That act itself is your first intention.
2. SET THE TONE WITH YOUR SENSES:
A sacred space should awaken all five senses, not just look good.
Sight: Place one object that holds your energy — a singing bowl, a crystal, a small deity, a candle. Not ten things. One powerful thing that says “peace” to you. Cleanse it with intention.
Smell: Scent is the fastest way to shift your state. Sandalwood, sage, or lavender can instantly tell your brain it’s time to pray, not to worry.
Sound: Silence is sacred, but sound is the doorway. A soft chant, high-frequency music, or just striking your bowl once can dissolve hours of mental chatter.
Touch: Keep a mala, a soft mat, or a shawl that only belongs to this space. When you touch it, you feel held.
Light: Light a single candle or diya. That one flame is your ritual — a symbolic switch from the outer world to your inner world.
3. COMMIT, DON’T JUST CREATE:
A sacred space without practice is just decor. Transformation happens with consistency.
Fix a time. Even 3, 5, or 11 minutes daily. Same time, same place. Before you start, connect to a source — your faith, the Earth, the Universe, your breath. This is non-negotiable.
Without connection, meditation becomes just sitting.
And keep it clean. Declutter blocked energy. Every week, I clean my space with sound vibration. You can do the same — declutter physically and energetically. Let the energy flow.
The Truth Is…
Your sacred space is a mirror of your inner state. When you respect it, it respects you back.
Over time, you won’t have to try to meditate. You will just sit, and peace will come to you.
You don’t need a perfect home to be peaceful. You just need one peaceful corner to make your whole home, and your whole life, feel different.
Start today. Your soul has been waiting for its room.
