You Are Not Out Of Balance. Your Elements Are
I was chasing goals, but I was losing my ground.
At the start of this year, I made a list like all of us do — travel more, network more, read, write, grow.
It looked perfect on paper. But something felt off.
As a Sound Healer, Breathwork Practitioner, and Kriya Yogi I paused and asked myself —
Why does achieving feel so exhausting?
And the answer came: Because I was trying to grow without being grounded. I was full of Fire and Air — ambition and ideas — but I had forgotten Earth and Water — stability and flow.
We are not separate from nature. We ARE nature. Pancha Mahabhutas — Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space — live inside us. When one element dominates, life feels off, no matter how many goals you tick.
True balance is not about doing more. It’s about aligning your inner elements.
1. EARTH: If You Want to Rise High, First Root Deep
Earth is your foundation. Your body, your home, your finances, your sense of safety.
When Earth is weak, you feel anxious, scattered, unstable — even if you are successful. You are flying without roots.
How to know it’s imbalanced?
- Constant worry
- Overthinking about money
- Feeling ungrounded
Alignment: Come back to your body.
- Walk barefoot on the ground.
- Eat wholesome, grounding food.
- At Samarpan Healing Spa, we use grounding breathwork — inhaling and exhaling through the nose, feeling the breath spread horizontally like roots spreading deep into the soil.
Stability is not boring. Stability is power.
2. WATER: You Cannot Force Flow, You Have to Allow It
Water is your emotions, your relationships, your ability to adapt.
When Water is blocked, you become rigid, emotionally numb, or overly reactive. When it is in excess, you feel overwhelmed and drained.
How to know it’s imbalanced?
- Mood swings
- Holding grudges
- Fear of change
Alignment: Learn to flow around obstacles, not crash into them.
- Drink water mindfully.
- Let your tears flow without judgment.
- In our healing circles, we practice the flow breath — inhaling through the nose, exhaling softly through the mouth, visualizing energy flowing downwards, purifying everything it touches.
- A small water fountain or even a bowl of water in your home can remind you daily — stay soft, stay moving.
3. FIRE: Without Your Inner Spark, Nothing Moves
Fire is your transformation, your passion, your digestion — of food and of life.
When Fire is low, you procrastinate, feel lethargic, lose confidence. When it’s too high, you burn out, become angry, and get inflamed.
How to know it’s imbalanced? Lack of drive, or constant irritability and burnout.
Alignment: Protect your spark. Wake up with the sun. Light a diya or candle with intention, not just as decor. Our Fire breath is simple — inhaling through the mouth, exhaling through the nose, feeling the breath rise upward like a flame. Your passion doesn’t need pressure. It needs a little air and a little space to rise.
4. AIR: Clarity Does Not Come from Thinking More. It Comes from Breathing Better.
Air is your breath, your thoughts, your freedom to express.
When Air is imbalanced, your mind becomes a crowded room — too many thoughts, no clarity.
How to know it’s imbalanced? Anxiety, sleeplessness, inability to focus.
Alignment: Open the windows of your home and your mind. Let fresh air circulate. Declutter. Practice open-mouth breath to release what you are holding. When you clear the air inside, ideas finally have space to land.
5. SPACE: The Most Powerful Element Is Emptiness
Space, or Ether, is the canvas on which all other elements paint. It is silence, stillness, infinite potential.
We fear emptiness, so we fill every minute with doing. But without Space, nothing new can be born.
How to know it’s imbalanced? Feeling stuck, heavy, no new ideas or opportunities.
Alignment: Create emptiness consciously. Keep the center of your home open and clean. Sit for 5 minutes daily in absolute stillness, taking feather-soft breaths through the nose, feeling stillness expand inside you. In Sound Healing, Space is where the healing actually happens — between two sounds.
Earth holds you. Water moves you. Fire transforms you. Air frees you. Space becomes you.
You don’t need to master life. You just need to remember you are a part of it. Next time you feel lost, don’t make another to-do list. Hug a tree, wash your face, light a candle, take a deep breath, and sit in silence.
That is not a break from life. That IS life.
